About the Subsidy Policy
As per the policy each state has their own benchmark cost, on which the government provides the subsidy. The subsidy for the year 2019-20 which was declared by the government was 20-40% of the Benchmark costs. There are empanelment agencies who fill the tender and get a participant in the tender. The Installation work is done as per government norms and procedures.
In 2019-20, Gujarat Government target was to install 600 MW of solar plates in the residential sector and by 2022 the target is 1800MW.
If a consumer wishes to install the solar panels at his site he has to choose from the empanelled agency from the Government website, the selected agency will visit the customer site and will provide the quotation to him for the solar project which would be under the norms of the government. Consumers have to provide the requisite documents like Aadhaar Card, Vera Bill, Light Bill, etc. After submitting all the requisite documents the empanelled agency will apply the application on behalf of the customer on the portal and through which the procedure of the solar application will be processed further. Then the empaneled agency will apply the application on behalf of the customer on the portal and through which the procedure of the solar application will be processed further . After the documents are verified by the division, onsite work will start which includes installation of rooftop solar panels. When all the work is done , the agency will claim the subsidy on the portal of the government with the required documents.
